Raul Fernandes, Managing Director, and Editor-in-Chief of Herald Publications was conferred with the ‘Lokmat Goan of the Year 2024’ award at a function organised by Lokmat Media Pvt Ltd. Fernandes was given the award for his outstanding contributions and achievements in the field of journalism by the Lokmat group. The event was attended by Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant, senior ministers, and MLAs, as well as well former Chief Ministers Luizinho Faleiro, Digambar Kamar and South Goa MP Fransisco Sardinha. The awards are a testament to the remarkable accomplishments and the impact the recipients have made in their respective fields. Fernandes is the ideator of one of Goa’s most popular dailies, the Herald. This homegrown newspaper, the state’s largest circulated English daily, is famed for its in-depth coverage of content, catering to a wide spectrum of the local readership and most importantly, its hard-core and committed readers.
