Sunil Chordia, Chairman & Managing Director, Rajratan Global Wire Ltd. has been elected as the Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Western Region for the year 2022-23 while Dr Praveer Sinha, CEO & Managing Director, The Tata Power Company Ltd. has been elected as the Deputy Chairman of the CII Western Region for the year 2022-23. Their names were announced at the first meeting of the reconstituted Western Regional Council.
The Western Regional Theme for 2022-23 is India@75 – Pivoting on Competitiveness, Skilling & Sustainability for Economic Development and Growth.
The major Focus Areas for the Western Region would be: Competitiveness, Skilling, Sustainability

Sunil Chordia is Chairman, CII Western Region 2022-23 and Chairman and Managing Director, Rajratan Global Wire Ltd.
With the trading experience of almost 4 years and science-management education background he started Rajratan Global Wire Limited in 1991, a steel wire manufacturing facility, technically complex value-added steel production, in Pithampur and in less than two decades, he built a market leader in Tyre Bead Wire Industry.
Today, Rajratan is India’s leading Tyre Bead Wire manufacturer, Asia’s second largest and globally amongst the Top-5 – catering to almost every major tyre manufacturer across the globe – in Asia, the Americas and Europe.
In 2008, he set up his second factory in Thailand – a pioneering decision that identified Thailand would become world’s Tyre making hub, at least 5 years before the world realized it. Rajratan is the only bead wire manufacturer in that country.
Chordia has a long association with CII since 2005. He is the Past Chairman of CII – Madhya Pradesh Chapter (2006). Since then he has held various positions (responsibilities) in the Western Region, the latest being his Co-Chair on International Trade & Investments for 2020-21.
He played an active role as President and board member of Indore Management Association. He contributed immensely as a Past Chairman of Steel Wire Manufacturers Association of India and an active participant in the Executive Council.
He is also promoter and Chairman of a Management Consulting Firm (LFC) which facilitates entrepreneurs of manufacturing SMB’s in their journey of cultural transformation & profitability improvements.
As Managing Trustee of Rajratan Foundation, his works are focused in 3 areas: Healthcare, Education and Environment.
Dr Praveer Sinha is Deputy Chairman, CII Western Region
Dr Praveer Sinha is Deputy Chairman, CII Western Region 2022-23 and CEO & Managing Director of The Tata Power Company Limited (TPC, Mumbai), India’s largest integrated power utility.
Dr. Sinha has nearly 36 years of experience in Power Generation and Distribution sector in India. Prior to his present role, he had served as the CEO&MD of Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL), a Public Private Partnership with Delhi Government.
He is a qualified Electrical Engineer and has done Master’s in Business Law from National Law University, Bangalore.
He has also done his PhD from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
He is a visiting Research Associate at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Boston, USA and is also a distinguished Visiting Scholar at the Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science, Ryerson University, Canada.
He is a regular speaker in various forums in India and abroad including World Bank, Niti Aayog, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Rockefeller Foundation.
He is also the Co-Chairman of the CII National Committee on Power as also on various Industry bodies.
