DEMPO COLLEGE ORGANISES EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING SESSION FOR THIRD YEAR STUDENTS

As a part of the Research Methodology course for the Third Year B.Com students, under the banner of the Research Ethics and Development Cell (RED Cell), a two-day hands-on session on ‘Understanding and Creating Google Forms’ was conducted recently. The session aimed to familiarize students with the practical aspects of designing online questionnaires and collecting research data effectively. The Resource person for the session was Sunil Madhukar Gauns, College Librarian.
The session was attended by 72 students and was conducted in an interactive and practical manner. Each day focused on creating a Google Form based on a specific research theme to enhance conceptual understanding and application skills. Students were guided to design a complete questionnaire on the given themes, ensuring they could apply research principles while formulating questions. During the session, participants were taught how to use different features of Google Forms, such as multiple choice questions, checkboxes, linear scales, file uploads, date and time inputs, and open-ended questions.
In addition, the three main modules of Google Forms: questions, responses, and settings were discussed in detail. Students learned how to navigate each module, customize forms, and interpret responses for research analysis. The session was well-received by the students, who actively participated and appreciated the opportunity to gain hands-on experience. They found the session highly beneficial for their research projects, particularly in understanding the process of data collection and questionnaire design.
The two-day session on Google Forms proved to be a valuable and enriching experience for the students, bridging the gap between theoretical learning and practical application in research methodology.
