An accomplished business leader takes charge as Kineco prepares for its next phase of expansion
Kineco Limited, one of India’s leading advanced composites companies, has appointed Vivek Srivastava as Executive Director and Group CEO, marking a significant milestone in the company’s growth journey.
Vivek joins Kineco after a distinguished career that includes serving as Group CEO of Waaree Energies; CEO of Suzlon Energy; and nearly two decades in leadership roles at Reliance Industries.
His appointment reflects Kineco’s ambition to accelerate growth, strengthen its global presence, and build on the strong foundation it has established over the past three decades.
Founded in Goa in 1995 by Shekhar Sardesai, Kineco has grown into a globally respected composites manufacturer serving the aerospace, defence, railways, and industrial sectors.
The company today supplies critical components and structures to some of the world’s most demanding customers and has earned a reputation for quality, innovation, and reliability.
A Career defined by Transformation
Vivek brings more than 35 years of leadership experience across manufacturing, energy, mobility, power, and industrial sectors. Throughout his career, he has consistently demonstrated the ability to scale businesses, develop high-performance teams, and deliver sustainable growth.
As Group CEO of Waaree Energies, he led a five-fold increase in manufacturing capacity within eleven months, more than doubled EBITDA margins, and helped position the company among the world’s leading solar manufacturers with a multi-billion-dollar export order book.
As CEO of Suzlon Energy, he led initiatives aimed at accelerating growth, growing the order book to more than 8000 MW, strengthening operational performance, enhancing project delivery, and securing manufacturing capacity across the value chain in one of the world’s most competitive renewable energy markets.
Prior to that, his nearly twenty-year tenure at Reliance Industries included leadership roles in some of the company’s most ambitious growth initiatives. He played a key role in the rollout of approximately 1,400 fuel stations across India, contributed to the formation of the landmark Reliance-BP joint venture, and led international business development and turnaround initiatives, including a highly successful East African business transformation.
Across every phase of his career, a common theme has emerged: building organisations capable of delivering transformational results.
Building teams that drive Performance
While Viveks’s achievements are often measured in growth figures and business milestones, colleagues frequently point to another defining strength; his ability to build strong organisations and leadership teams.
He has consistently attracted top talent, developed future leaders, and fostered cultures centred on accountability, collaboration, and performance. His belief that sustainable business success is ultimately driven by people aligns closely with Kineco’s own culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
His experience also extends beyond executive leadership into governance and board-level oversight, bringing a balanced perspective that combines strategic vision with disciplined execution.
A Natural fit for Kineco
Kineco operates in sectors where trust, technical capability, and long-term partnerships are essential. Aerospace, Defence, and Railway customers demand not only engineering excellence but also consistency, reliability, and commitment over many years.
Srivastava’s career has been built around nurturing precisely these kinds of relationships. Whether with global customers, institutional investors, government bodies, or strategic partners, he has consistently demonstrated an ability to build trust and create enduring business value.
This relationship-oriented approach is particularly relevant as Kineco expands its engagement with global aerospace and defence companies while strengthening its leadership position in India.
Leading Kineco’s next phase of Growth
Kineco today possesses many of the ingredients required for global leadership; advanced technology, world-class manufacturing capabilities, internationally recognised certifications, and strong customer relationships built over decades.
Vivek’s mandate will be to build on these strengths by strengthening organisational capability, attracting world-class talent, deepening customer engagement, expanding market reach, and driving profitable growth across all business verticals.
His extensive experience across manufacturing, energy, infrastructure, and industrial sectors, combined with a strong network spanning industry, government, and international markets, is expected to help accelerate Kineco’s long-term growth ambitions.
“Kineco has built something genuinely special – world-class technology, strong customer trust, and a culture of engineering excellence. My focus will be on strengthening our teams, deepening customer relationships, and creating the environment that enables sustainable growth and long-term value creation. The best organisations are built by empowering great people, and that will remain central to our journey ahead”, affirms Vivek Srivastava, Executive Director & Group CEO, Kineco Group
Looking Ahead: As Kineco enters a new chapter, the appointment of Vivek Srivastava signals both confidence and intent; confidence in the strength of the company’s foundation and intent to build a globally admired Indian engineering enterprise.
With increasing opportunities emerging across Aerospace, Defence, Railways, and Industrial applications, Kineco is well positioned to expand its footprint in both domestic and international markets.
“Kineco is not just into manufacturing composites. It is helping shape a new legacy of Indian engineering excellence on the global stage. With Vivek at the helm, we are well positioned for the opportunities that lie ahead for the company’s next chapter,” says Shekhar Sardesai, Founder, Chairman & MD, Kineco Group.
