Udaan 2023 – the annual sports fest for people with intellectual disabilities, organised by Nirmaan Organisation and Spree’23 in collaboration with Special Olympics Bharat and The Sarvodya Collective was held recently. Being organised after a span of 3 years, Udaan 2023 witnessed 87 students from 7 special schools across Goa participating in 100m sprint, 50m walk-run, javelin throw, shot put, and standing long jump athletic events and competing for the gold, silver and bronze medals. The event was inaugurated by Prof. Suman Kundu, Director of BITS Pilani, K.K. Birla Goa Campus, and Victor Vaz, National Director (Sports) of Special Olympics Bharat, followed by an energetic dance performance by Dance Club BITS Goa. The athletes then proceeded to their respective events and showed true sportsmanship while competing for the gold, silver, and bronze medals.
After the events, prize distribution ceremony was held where the students of BITS Goa bestowed medals and certificates to all the athletes!
Udaan-2023 concluded with insightful closing remarks by Victor Vaz. V.M. Salgaocar College of Law wins National Client Counselling Competition
The University College of Law, Osmania University, Hyderabad successfully organised the fourth edition of ‘Justitia,’ a national-level Moot Court and Client Counselling Competition on the 3rd and 4th March 2023.
M. Salgaocar College of Law, Miramar represented by Raj Chodankar and Esha Ghodekar, emerged victorious at the National Client Counselling Competition. The team secured the highest score in all the rounds of the competition, which tested their skills in legal consultation and client representation. 
The awards were presented by former Supreme Court Judge, Ramayyagari Subhash Reddy. The winning team received the top honours and was felicitated for their exceptional performance. The distinguished panel of judges for the competition included Additional Government Pleader, Kalyan Rao; Law Secretary of Telangana State; N Narasimha Rao; Government Pleader, Dr Vijayalakshmi; Adv. Lalita Reddy; Senior Advocate P. B. Vijay Kumar; Senior Advocate Ashok Ram Kumar; and several other legal luminaries. The success at Justitia 2023 is a testament to the outstanding legal talent of V. M. Salgaocar College of Law. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of law students from across the country.
GIM’S ‘INCEPTION’ EVENT CELEBRATES CULTURAL AND ARTISTIC FREEDOM
Goa Institute of Management’s Performing Arts Society organised, Inception 2023, an annual cultural, music and food festival recently, which celebrated art through dance and music. Inception 2023 showcased exciting food delicacies from around the country, with attendees enjoying the fun, music, food, and vibe. This year’s event featured performances by popular singer Aseem Sharma and bands AK Ajay Project and Naalayak Band.
Inception 2023, which was organised in collaboration with various industry leaders, was a perfect platform for GIM’s students to showcase their talent and artistic skills in front of a large audience. Inception remains an essential part of GIM’s commitment to fostering creativity, talent and art among its students. Goa Institute of Management has been a hub of talent and creativity for years and its unique approach to student clubs has been a cornerstone of its success.
