TiE Global, the world’s largest nonprofit organisation dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship, officially announced the launch of its Panjim Chapter on 26 February 2026, marking a significant milestone in Goa’s startup and business landscape.
Addressing members of the media, the leadership panel comprising Rajesh Mehrotra, President, TiE Panjim; Madan Padaki, Immediate Past President, TiE Bangalore; and Ritu Sharma, Executive Director, TiE Bangalore; shared insights into TiE Global’s journey. Founded in 1992 in Silicon Valley, California, TiE Global has now marked Goa as its 64th global chapter.
Padaki highlighted the five pillars of TiE Global; Mentoring, Networking, Education, Funding, and Incubation, underscoring the importance of structured and sustained support for aspiring entrepreneurs. He emphasised that by introducing local entrepreneurs to international networks, TiE provides a robust platform for mentorship, knowledge exchange, and early-stage funding opportunities. He further elaborated on the organisation’s mentor–mentee matching model, designed to ensure productive and meaningful engagement.
Additionally, Padaki spoke about key TiE initiatives such as TiE U, which fosters student entrepreneurship, and TiE Women, which supports women entrepreneurs in scaling their ventures.
Taking the discussion forward, Sharma emphasised TiE Global’s inclusive approach, noting that regional and gender inclusivity have always been organically embedded within the organisation’s ethos. She outlined TiE Bangalore’s role in supporting the Panjim Chapter during its formative year, while reaffirming that the new chapter will operate independently. This initial support is intended to help establish a strong foundation, enabling TiE Panjim to grow into a self-sustaining and dynamic entrepreneurial platform.
Speaking on the vision for Goa, Rajesh Mehrotra shared that the Panjim Chapter will begin its initiatives with TiE Women, aiming to create greater opportunities for women-led enterprises in the region. He also announced plans to collaborate with educational institutions across Goa to nurture young innovators and aspiring entrepreneurs through mentorship programs, workshops, and networking platforms.
All set to spearhead the chapter, Mehrotra expressed his commitment to building a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem in Goa, stating that the chapter aims to serve as a catalyst for innovation, collaboration, and sustainable business growth in the state.
The press conference concluded with an interactive Q&A session, reaffirming TiE Global’s commitment to empowering entrepreneurs and strengthening Goa’s position as an emerging hub for innovation and enterprise.
