On 3rd May 2018, Shobha Jewellers, the authentic Goan Jewellery brand tied up and came together with Weaver Storey Saree to hold an exclusive exhibition and sale at Hotel Mandovi titled “Ode to the Indian Saree.”
This partnership between, Shobha Jewellers, Weaver Storey Saree, led to the presentation of a beautiful event under the leadership of the event organisers, Amita Quenim and Wedwise showcasing the confluence of traditional jewellery and textiles of India spanning generations.
The collaboration, a first of its kind, where a Goan brand tied up with a nationally renowned Saree brand to put up an event, was glittered with special invites comprising of Goa’s who’s who, Mrs Rane, Vini Tandon Quenim and Mrs Angley to name a few.
The event took off with the lighting of the lamp ceremony, followed by a talk named ‘Saree Speak’. After the talk, came the main highlight of the event, the fashion show.
All models were donned in dazzling sarees from Weaver saree. To add the touch of tradition, grace and elegance, Shobha Jewellers’ designs stepped into the limelight.
Apart from Goan traditional jewellery, they showcased Royal Calcutta Traditional Jewellery, Temple Jewellery, Rajasthani Jewellery and Real Diamond jewellery as well.
Sucheta Halkar, along with her team of six Goan models organised the ramp walk and fashion show under her leadership. After the fashion show, a small talk on sarees was organised by various saree business owners, followed by a talk about Shobha Jewellers and their products by their MD, Shreyas Lotlikar.
It was a perfect blend of sarees and jewellery which was liked and appreciated by everyone. People not only from Panjim, but even those who reside in other parts of Goa were present for the event.
