RMCEER inaugurated at BITS

The Department of Mechanical Engineering of BITS Pilani K K Birla Goa Campus in collaboration with the Society of Asian Rotomoulders (StAR) jointly inaugurated the Rotational Moulding Centre of Excellence for Education and Research (RMCEER) at BITS Pilani Goa Campus. This centre will serve as a unique hub of knowledge and research for rotational moulding industry in the country.  Representatives of around 38 industries from India and abroad were present for the inaugural function. The objectives of the centre are to provide testing services for rotationally moulded materials and products, develop industry standards for products and processes, design RM products, application development for RM products, industrial training and development, joint research projects with industry, etc. Ravi Mehra, founder chairman, StAR, Prof G Raghurama, Director of BITS Pilani K K Birla Goa Campus, Ashish Baheti, Managing Director of Vectus industries, Mukesh Ambani, Managing Director of Infra Technologies and Ranjit Patil, Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department were present at the event. Prof G Raghurama expressed his views on the collaborative industrial research in BITS. Ravi Mehra delivered a keynote talk on the potential of this Centre for the rotomoulding industry.

Prior to this programme, StAR and BITS signed an MOU for bilateral cooperation to enhance R&D capabilities and knowledge in the areas of Rotational Moulding. The MOU signing was attended by the office bearers of StAR, Director of BITS Pilani Goa Campus, deans, and other faculty members
