India at 75 School Quiz, Goa’s biggest in the genre, saw six of the state’s best teams battle it out at the grande finale.
The Business Goa Media Group hosted the Statewide India @75 School Quiz Grande Finale on 23rd February, 2023 at the Institute Menezes Braganza, Panaji.
We ultimately arrived at the finals of the quiz after scouring the entire state for bright young minds of today. The quiz saw a participation of around 40 plus teams from each Taluka and only the top six teams throughout the state qualified to represent their respective Talukas at the finale.
The finalists were as follows: Pernem was represented by Atharv Chavan and Tanmay Kharbe of Shree Bhagwati High School; Tiwadi was represented by Anushree Khandeparker and Tanishka Prabhu from Mustifund High school; Representing Salcete were Aprameya Dixit and Atithi Prabhushastri from Ravindra Kelekar Dnyanmandir; Amogh Savaikar and Durva Kanekar from Dr. K. B Hedgewar Vidyamandir represented Bicholim; Representing Mormugao were Saanvi Madgaonkar and Sanvi Sunil Naik from St. Joseph’s Institute; and Shreya Laad and Sara Sawant from The New Educational Institute represented Quepem.
The Quizmaster Rajiv D’Silva explained the rules and regulations of each round. There was a new component added to the quiz, an app that had a buzzer which would notify who could take a go at the answer first. The rule was simple; a question asked to a specific team could be answered by another team as long as they hit the buzzer on time. Accordingly the teams would either get plus or minus points.
Hence began the quiz. It consisted of 6 rounds and each round had 6 questions. The first few two rounds of the quiz ended on a very interesting note with Mormugao in the lead. As the quiz proceeded, the tension slowly grew. There were some surprises in the team results, so it was still unclear as to who would win the quiz. Up to the final round, it was still a mystery. As the last round approached, everyone’s strategies had changed. Now it all depended on who could answer the most questions. After what seemed to be the tensest round, the competition had finally come to an end.
Aprameya Dixit and Athiti Prabhushastri from Ravindra Kelekar Dyanmandir representing Salcete were declared Winners at India at 75 School Quiz. The Chief Guest Vincent Ramos (Senior Vice President, IHCL-Goa), Quizmaster Rajiv D’Silva and the organizer Harshvardhan Bhatkuly handed over the trophy and certificates to the winners.
