Sudesh Naik, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Panaji, has been bestowed with the President’s Medal for meritorious service. Having joined the Goa police force in 1999 as a sub-inspector, Naik dedicated 23 years to his service, diligently, and received numerous awards including the Chief Minister’s Medal and the Director General of Police’s insignia for meritorious service.
As part of the police force, Naik has solved a number of cases including crimes like murder, sexual assault, and dacoities, many of which concluded with conviction. In addition, the awardee of the President’s medal was a member of the special investigation team that was constituted to investigate the bomb blast case that occurred in Margao. Sudesh Naik was promoted to Inspector in January 2006 and has worked at the Margao, Ponda, Cuncolim, and Panaji police stations.
