Powering a Smarter Energy Future

Kunde Solar Solutions is powering Goa’s clean energy future through precision engineering and uncompromising quality

For Kunde Solar Solutions, the move into solar was not a departure from its roots but a natural progression. With Kunde Electricals providing a strong foundation in electrical contracting, the company saw renewable energy as the next step in an industry undergoing a fundamental shift.

“We saw solar emerging as the natural next step in the energy sector,” says Sharveya Kunde. The vision was to bring that electrical expertise into renewable energy while helping customers reduce electricity costs and make the transition towards cleaner energy simpler and more accessible.

That transition is increasingly visible across Goa. Rooftop solar, once viewed largely as an environmental choice, is now being considered for its financial value, as well. Rising electricity costs, improving technology and government incentives have made solar attractive to homeowners, hotels, businesses, institutions and industries.

Customers are also becoming more discerning. Rather than simply asking whether solar works, they want to understand how much electricity a system can generate, how much they can save and how long it could take to recover the investment.

For Kunde, that growing awareness is a positive sign for the sector – but it also means solar companies have to approach customers with greater transparency.

One common misconception, he points out, is that installing solar will eliminate an electricity bill. In reality, savings depend on consumption, system size, available roof area, and usage patterns. Monsoon performance is another frequent concern, particularly in Goa, where sunlight varies considerably across seasons.

Kunde Solar addresses these questions through careful site assessments and realistic projections, not exaggerated promises.

Engineering before Installation

What distinguishes the company’s approach is its emphasis on the system as a whole, not just the panels themselves.

“We don’t simply look at how many panels can fit on a roof,” says Kunde.

“Before designing a system, we assess consumption, roof orientation, shading, electrical requirements, and future needs. Component quality, safety, installation and after-sales support are given equal importance.

The objective is to create systems that continue to perform reliably over time, rather than simply completing an installation.

That approach naturally changes depending on the customer. Residential projects are largely shaped by household consumption, available roof space, and potential savings. Commercial and industrial installations require more detailed load analysis, operational planning and larger-scale execution”, adds Kunde .

Working on larger projects has reinforced another lesson for Kunde Solar: while preparation is essential, so is the ability to adapt when on-the-ground conditions demand a different solution.

A Smarter Solar Ecosystem

Technology is further changing how these projects are executed. Digital tools allow the team to assess sites, analyze shading and optimize system designs before installation. Improvements in panels, inverters and monitoring systems have also enhanced efficiency and reliability.

Monitoring, in particular, allows both the company and its customers to track performance and quickly identify issues. “The industry is moving towards smarter, data-driven energy systems, and we need to evolve with it,” Kunde exclaims.

“But even as technology advances, the fundamental question for a customer remains simple: Does solar make financial sense for me?

Kunde Solar begins with actual electricity consumption and bills before recommending a system. The team estimates generation and savings, explains applicable subsidies or incentives, and works towards determining the system size that makes sense for that particular customer.

Rather than simply recommending a larger installation, the emphasis is on helping customers understand the investment, expected savings, and payback period so they can make an informed decision.

This is particularly important for businesses. Commercial and industrial customers have different operating patterns and energy requirements, making a standardized approach less useful. Understanding the customer’s actual needs before designing a system allows the investment to be evaluated as part of the larger business equation,” Kunde explains.

Building through Challenges

As the solar sector grows, it also faces challenges. Policy consistency and streamlined approvals remain important, as delays can affect project timelines and investment decisions. A skilled workforce is another requirement, with solar projects demanding expertise across electrical systems, design, safety, installation, and maintenance.

Customers also need to understand the importance of quality. The cheapest installation may not necessarily provide the best value over the long term.

For Kunde, some of the most valuable lessons have come through larger and more complex projects, where site conditions, structural considerations, electrical requirements and timelines have to be managed simultaneously.

“I take up every project as a challenge, especially the larger ones,” he says.

Such projects have reinforced the importance of preparation, teamwork and adaptability. Sometimes, the best solution is not the one originally imagined on paper, but the one developed after understanding a site’s practical constraints.

That adaptability also extends to running the business itself. “I have learned that a business is ultimately built on people; your team, partners and customers,” adds Kunde.

For the company, continuous learning is particularly important in solar because the industry is evolving rapidly. Technology, customer expectations and energy solutions are changing, making the ability to learn and adapt an important part of staying relevant.

And alongside technical expertise, Kunde places importance on reputation. “It is built through consistency, accountability and delivering what you promise,” he affirms.

The Road ahead for Goa

For Goa, Kunde sees considerable untapped potential, particularly across commercial, industrial and institutional rooftops. Greater awareness, simpler processes and streamlined approvals and grid-related procedures could allow the state to make much better use of these spaces for clean energy generation.

The opportunity, therefore, is not limited to individual homes. Businesses and institutions with substantial rooftop areas could play an important role in expanding the state’s renewable-energy capacity, provided the policy and infrastructure environment makes adoption easier.

Kunde Solar’s own ambitions extend beyond conventional rooftop solar. Over the next three to five years, the company aims to become one of India’s most trusted solar companies, recognized for quality, engineering and dependable service.

Energy storage, monitoring and smarter energy management are among the areas it sees as opportunities for the future.

Ultimately, the ambition is to contribute to India’s transition towards cleaner energy by making solar a practical and reliable choice for more homes and businesses.

The journey from electrical contracting to renewable energy reflects a wider shift in how energy is being viewed not simply as a utility cost, but as an area where technology, efficiency and long-term planning can make a meaningful difference.

For Kunde Solar Solutions, the next phase is about building on that foundation: combining electrical expertise with renewable-energy technology and helping customers move towards a cleaner energy future with greater confidence.
