Senior badminton veteran in the state, Narahar Thakur has been appointed manager of the India team for the upcoming Daihatsu Yonex Japan Open 2018 tournament to be held in Tokyo, from September 11 to 16.
One of Goa’s major business dealers in the petroleum trade, Narahar Thakur is also the president of Goa Badminton Association (GBA) as well as president of the Shuttlers Club, a club affiliated with the Goa Badminton Association. Sarfraz Sheikh, treasurer of GBA, has been appointed as official of the Indian contingent for the tournament.
Well-known in the sporting circle of Goa, Narahar Thakur also serves as the joint-secretary of the Badminton Association of India (BAI)
