Manipal Health Enterprises welcomes new investors

Manipal Health Enterprises (MHE) announced that it welcomes new investors, including Mubadala Investment Company, Novo Holdings, and California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS). These investors have acquired a minority stake from Temasek, a global investment company headquartered in Singapore. Despite this transaction, Temasek will maintain a majority stake in MHE.

Manipal Hospitals, based in Bengaluru, has a nationwide presence, serving over 6 million patients annually through 30+ hospitals. With more than 5,000 doctors, it ranks as India’s second-largest hospital chain by bed count. Camilla Macapili Languille, head of life sciences at Mubadala, praised Manipal’s commitment to clinical excellence and patient-centric approach. Dr. Amit Kakar, managing partner and Head of Novo Holdings Asia Investments, highlighted Manipal’s role in meeting the growing demand for affordable and accessible private healthcare services in India. He expressed excitement for Novo Holdings to contribute to Manipal’s continued success.
