Rahul Gurav joins Goa Marriott Resort and Spa as Pastry Chef

Goa Marriott Resort and Spa has appointed Chef Rahul Gurav as the new Pastry Chef. Gurav comes with a distinct culinary experience. A seasoned chef, he has worked with some of the most eminent Indian and international hospitality brands including Marriott International, ACCOR, The Oberoi Group, and IHG Hotels and Resorts. Rahul’s primary responsibilities at the Goa Marriott Resort and Spa will be to introduce new ideas into the bakery and dessert operations.

He will also enhance the gastronomic experience at Goa Baking Company, the in-house Deli, and one of Goa’s most popular patisseries, with his signature dishes, which have garnered him numerous accolades and appreciation from guests over the years. Dr. Shruti Kamat Dalal and Ameya Nayak shine at Delhi International Conference

The team of Dr. Shruti V. Kamat Dalal and Ameya A. Nayak, both Assistant Professors at V. M. Salgaocar College of Law, Miramar participated at the 13th International Conference on Global Information & Business Strategies organised by Gitarattan International Business School (giBS) at Rohini, New Delhi. The conference was held in January.

Dr. Shruti and Ameya bagged the ‘Best Paper Presenters’ Award of the law track at the conference chaired by Abhinav Kumar Mishra, who is a Doctoral Fellow at the United Nations Mandated University for Peace, Costa Rica (AI Regulations).
The team co-authored a law research paper titled ‘Splintering the Shackles of Sedition Law’ highlighting the combative law of Sedition articulated under Section 124-A of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 during British colonialism and the enigma pertaining to how the sedition law, finds itself at crossroads between politics and social order.

Swapnil Naik honoured with gold medal by Arunachal Pradesh government

Swapnil Mahesh Naik, IAS from Goa, bagged a gold medal for his meritorious services to Arunachal Pradesh, known as the ‘State of Rising Sun’. He was felicitated at the hands of AP Governor Lt General (retired) K. T. Parnaik, on the occasion of Statehood Day.

Naik has been serving the North Eastern state of Arunachal Pradesh for the last three years, as the Secretary of Civil Aviation, Textile and Handicrafts.

He is also holds additional charge of Administrative Reforms Division, AP Public Service, Science and Technology. During his tenure in the North Eastern state, his major achievement was to make the first Hollongi Green Airport of the state operational.

He is the alumni of People’s High School, Dhempe HSS, GEC, Farmagudi and Goa Institute of Management.

 

Dr Celsa Pinto releases two books at XCHR

Dr Celsa Pinto released two books, The Idea of Constitutional Liberalism in Goa: Understanding Bernardo Peres da Silva’s Diálogo and Concise History of Goa, at the Xavier Centre of Historical Research. Diálogo is regarded as an Asian statement on constitutional liberalism by Indian thought in the ‘Age of Liberalism and Empire’ alongside Rammohan Roy’s works.

The second book covers pre-colonial, colonial, and post-colonial periods of Goa in this overview of a nation’s people, culture, and history. Dr. Pinto is an academician and historian. She has dedicated twenty-six years of her life to historical research and has authored four books. She has to her credit about 25 research papers in reputed journals of history. An acknowledged historian on Indo-Portuguese economic history, she has participated in Indo-Portuguese seminars held at Portugal, France and Brazil. She is a Gulbenkian Foundation scholar.
