The Goa Vintage and Classic Vehicles Club (GVCVC) organized a one of a kind display and drive, GVCVC’s Vintage Waves with the Indian Navy – ‘A Tryst with Cars and Naval Aircraft over the Years.’ The event was the trust’s tribute to the Armed Forces and their families, and thrilled everyone present by the sheer sight of these classy machines from the past.
This scintillating event was held at Rajhans, Airport Road, Chicalim, Vasco. The crowds of naval officers, their families and general public were left in awe by the dazzling display of vintage, classic and Indian heritage vehicles.
The beautiful drive of historic vehicles was flagged off by Mauvin Godinho, Transport Minister, RADM Vikram Menon, VSM, Flag Officer Commanding Goa Area and Naval Aviation, and senior officers of the Indian Navy, and President of GVCVC Gautam Pai Kakode. Krishna Daji Salkar, MLA of Vasco also graced this event. Different models and makes of these cars participated from Pune and Karnataka, apart from historic vehicles from Goa. Post lunch, there was a photo session at Naval Aircraft Museum with cars parked close to the historic Aircraft, truly making it a memorable- ‘Tryst with Cars and Naval Aircraft over the Years’.
