Goa to showcase solar panels at IEW

Shrikant Parab from Orion Infotech Services, invited by the Chief Minister for the India Energy Week (IEW) on behalf of the Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA), stated that Goa is transcending its tourism image.

The state government, through GEDA’s pavilion in Hall No. 2, will showcase fifth-generation solar panels, reducing solar farm space needs by almost 60%, and floating solar technology eliminating land use and ensuring marine life safety.

Parab emphasised that hosting IEW in Goa signifies the state’s shift towards industrialisation and technology. The fifth-gen panels, weighing only 6 kg, can be affixed to surfaces, are durable, dust-resistant, waterproof, and boast a 25-year lifespan. Additionally, lightweight floating solar panels, saving land space and minimising impact on marine life, will be featured.

Parab believes these innovations can accelerate Panaji’s 2030 goal of becoming a 100% green energy city.

Goa is hosting the second edition of IEW 2024 on February 6, 2024, at IPSHEM, ONGC, Betul, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, expecting the participation of energy ministers and key decision-makers in the global oil and gas market.
