Goa soon to be energy hub : CM Sawant

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant emphasised Goa’s potential to become an energy hub, urging both domestic and international investors to seize opportunities in the energy sector. He highlighted Goa’s pivotal role in India’s energy transformation, aiming for a 60% shift to solar and wind energy by 2025 and transitioning to electric vehicles by 2027.

Speaking at the India Energy Week inaugural, Sawant assured a transparent and investor-friendly environment, stating the state’s commitment to a 45% reduction in carbon emissions by 2030. The event, hosting 120 heads of various countries and 35,000 attendees, serves as a platform to explore the energy sector’s potential, with the government actively promoting sustainability initiatives. Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri acknowledged global energy challenges and outlined government schemes during the event.
