GIM to conduct a CFO Round-Table on AI

Goa Institute of Management will host a CFO Round-Table on Challenges for CFOs in the Age of Artificial Intelligence

In recent times, artificial intelligence (AI) has createda storm in the world. With its disruptive capabilities, AI is reshaping the operating environment of businesses across industries and sectors. Decision-making processes are being optimized, and senior executives, including CFOs, are at the forefront of these transformations.
With the integration of AI into business operations, financial functions are also being reimagined. This includes developments in realtime forecasting; algorithmic decision-making and intelligent automation in addition to improvements in managing daily operations and strategic decision-making. Advanced analytics allow CFOs to deliver real-time forecasts with greater accuracy. Machine learning models detect fraud and unusual patterns instantly, while automation tools streamline invoice processing, reconciliations, and compliance reporting. Natural language processing helps teams analyse unstructured data such as contracts and market insights.
At the strategic level, scenario modelling and predictive algorithms are improving risk management and enabling CFOs to test multiple business strategies under uncertain conditions.
This integration also entails a new set of challenges in navigating data and its governance, ensuring ethical use of AI, upskilling teams, and engaging with new tools and tech. All these need to be evaluated without disrupting core systems. The new role of CFOs is to have technological foresight in addition to a deep understanding of the impact digital transformation can have on a firm’s key performance metrics.
To address these developments, Goa Institute of Management (GIM) is organizing the CFO Round Table on 4th October 2025 at Fr. Romuald D’Souza Auditorium. The Round Tablewill be held on the theme ‘Challenges for CFOs in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.’ The Round Table will bring together eminent finance leaders and industry experts to discuss cuttingedge issues. The session will feature distinguished guest speakers, including Pankaj Gupta (CFO, Sterling Tools Ltd. Group); Vinod Madan (CFO, SKH Group); T. Prasanna K. Patro (CFO, Ascenso Tyres); and Sandeep Gouti (CFO, Zinnov), who will share their insights on how artificial intelligence is reshaping digital transformations and strategic decision-making, along with the evolving responsibilities of CFOs in an AI-driven era.
Speakers will also touch open how the rise of AI in finance is opening new career paths including roles such as financial data scientists, risk analysts, automation specialists, compliance technologists, and digital finance strategists. This Round Table offers students a unique opportunity to understand the intersection
of finance and technology. Exposure to these conversations equips them with future-ready skills, strengthens their grasp of ethical and governance issues, and helps them prepare for careers in a technology-driven financial world. Understanding AI is not just an academic exercise but a professional necessity for tomorrow’s
finance leaders. The dialogue also aligns with GIM’s mission which is to create knowledge and develop responsible and agile leaders at the forefront of cuttingedge business practices. The initiative of CFO roundtable complements GIM’s mission and aims to foster dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration between academia and industry.
