Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) Women’s Wing was established in 2005 with the purpose of empowering women entrepreneurs, self-help groups and professionals. It conducts various programs and workshops to empower women entrepreneurs.
The Forum for Innovation Incubation Research and Entrepreneurship (FiiRE ™) is the 1st Tourism Tech™ incubator in India established with the support of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and is hosted at the Don Bosco College of Engineering – Fatorda, Goa.
FiiRE™ supports early-stage technology ventures that work towards innovation, development, or improvement of products, processes, or services with a scalable business model. It offers incubation support, co-working space, a testing laboratory, training halls, and other facilities to its incubatees and entrepreneurs. FiiRE™ helps startups set up a sustainable business that solves real problems, has a global impact, and provides value to customers, livelihood, and satisfaction to their employees. FiiRE™ through its structured incubation process, helps start-ups build prototypes and provides access to strategic mentors, early adopters and investors.
WHAT is the event?
BUSINESS DIVA – The event is a business idea competition for women and would mainly focus on innovative business ideas and solutions to common issues and problems. The aim of the Business Diva Competition 2024 is to reach a wider audience and positively impact and uplift more women entrepreneurs.
This year the Business Diva event is powered by Geno Foundation a trust and Menino Regency, a woman-owned business venture.
To achieve their objective of promoting innovation and an entrepreneurial-specific environment, GCCI Women’s Wing in association with FiiRE™ jointly organised The Business Diva Competition 2023 powered by GENO FOUNDATION. The overwhelming response and positive feedback received for the program convinced them to make it into an annual event. This is the 5th edition of Business Diva.
The last day for application is 15th March 2024.
Organisers of the event
The event will be co-ordinated by Risha Hegde (Community Manager, FiiRE™), Asha Arondekar (Chairperson, GCCI Women’s Wing), and Sandra Fernandes (Co-Chair, GCCI Women’s Wing) and supported by other staff from FiiRE™ and members of GCCI Women’s Wing.
WHEN is the event?
The launch of the Business Diva Competition 2024 was on 26th February 2024. The last date for applications is 15th March 2024; the finals and prize distribution ceremony will be held on 26th April 2024.
WHO can participate?
Women above the age of 18 with innovative businesses can participate. There will be three categories under which participants can apply:-
1) Category I- Businesses in operation for less than two years (starting up)
2) Category II- Businesses in operation for more than two years (scaling up)
3) Category III – Self-Help Groups
Winners
The winners of the competition will be awarded cash prizes along with support from FiiRE™, mentoring by industry veterans, networking opportunities, and access to funding opportunities.
