GCCI to host Developer’s Summit

The Goa Developers Summit is scheduled to be held on 16th October 2022 at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao

Unemployment in Goa is higher than the national average. The Hon’ble Chief Minister is concentrating on skill development to increase the employability factor of Goan youths. One major thrust area which has huge scope for employing Goan youth is the IT/ITeS sector which was highlighted by GCCI in the recently concluded Invest Goa 2022 Summit. To take the employment issue further, Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry is organizing Goa Developers Summit, a first of its kind developer’s conference in Goa on Sunday, 16th October 2022 at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao. The inaugural function is scheduled at 10:00 a.m.

There is a question mark on the employability of fresh IT engineers in Goa who need to be trained further after their degree to gain lucrative employment. Python programming, R programming, Cisco Packet Tracer, NCAT etc are some of the syllabus missing in the university curriculum. These skills pertained to programming languages, computer networking, network security etc. The Goa Developers Summit will be an amalgamation of IT working professionals with Government IT staff and final year IT students who will get on-the-hand guidance from senior IT professionals through presentations, talks and panel discussions.

This will largely provide a boost to the IT technical skills in Goa. The IT industry in Goa has faced an acute shortage of resources (developers). In all there are 8 speakers covering various topics such as Why javascript?, Power of .Net, Blockchain, AI/ML, Cloud computing trends, mobile app development, full stack etc.

This will be a one of its kind developers’ conference organized in the state of Goa.

Major events in Goa happen in the capital city of Panaji but GCCI has made it a point to make a summit in the commercial capital of Goa to give exposure to the stakeholders in South Goa. The Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant & Minister for IT, Rohan Khaunte have personally guided the organisers for the success of this IT Developers Summit. The Chief Minister himself will be the Chief Guest for the valedictory function & Minister of IT will be Guest of Honour. The Summit will be inaugurated by Praveen Volvoikar, Director DoIT, Dr. Vivek Kamat, Director, Directorate of Technical Education, Dipak Dessai, Director, Directorate of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship.

Nitin Kunkolienkar will deliver the keynote address and GCCI President Ralph de Sousa will be the Guest of Honour. GCCI invites all the IT professionals, faculties, students & other direct or indirect stakeholder to kindly be a part of this mega event & make it a grand success.
