First Edition of CONVERGE 2024 – Shiksha-Udyojak Sangam, held

The FIRST edition of ‘CONVERGE 2024’ – Shiksha-Udyojak Sangam, was organized by the Directorate of Higher Education in association with Sant Sohirobanath Ambiye Government College of Arts & Commerce, Virnoda, Pernem on 17th January 2024.

During the Industry-Academia Conclave, the Chief Guest,  Mangirish Salelkar, CEO & CoFounder of UMANG Group, said, “The systematic implementation of the new education policy will improve the quality of education, flexibility in the teaching system, and provide robust infrastructure. The new reforms in India aim to foster innovation, focus on entrepreneurship, open trade gateways, and boost job opportunities. Our next generation will find fulfillment and recognition within our borders, curbing brain drain by encouraging these bright minds to contribute meaningfully to national progress. The new India promises to transform our Bharat into a global powerhouse.”

Day 3 of the Converge 2024 conclave, featured sessions by various industry experts and workshops. Other dignitaries present were Guest of Honor,  Pallavi Arondekar, Director GCCI; Dr. Niyan Marchon representing DHE; Dr. Pravina Kerkar, Principal; and Dr. Roshan Usapkar, Convenor TIP, Govt College of Pernem.

“In the rapidly evolving landscape of technology and innovation, a fresh graduate being Industry-ready is a myth. However, conclaves like this, under the able leadership of Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant, will help bridge the gap and create stronger bonds between Industry and Academia. This will improve opportunities for internships and placements,” added Salelkar.
