The team of Dr. Shruti V. Kamat Dalal and Ameya A. Nayak, both Assistant Professors at V.M Salgaocar College of Law, Miramar participated at the 13th International Conference on Global Information & Business Strategies organized by Gitarattan International Business School (giBS) at Rohini, New Delhi from 28th – 29th January 2023.
Dr. Shruti and Ameya bagged the Best Paper Presenters Award of the law track at the conference chaired by Abhinav Kumar Mishra, who is a Doctoral Fellow at the United Nations Mandated University for Peace, Costa Rica (AI Regulations).
The team co-authored a law research paper titled “Splintering the shackles of Sedition law” highlighting the combative law of Sedition articulated under Section 124-A of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 during British colonialism and the enigma pertaining to how the sedition law, today, finds itself at crossroads between politics and social order, thereby conflicting with the fundamental Freedom of Speech and Expression that finds prominence in the Constitution of India.
