In a half-day MSME event, the Goa Chamber of Commerce & Industry in association with Government of Goa – Department of Industries, Goa State Industries Association, Goa Technology Association celebrated Entrepreneur’s Day on August 21, 2018, at Institute Menezes Braganza, Panjim. The Reserve Bank of India, State Bank of India (SBI) along with 20 other banks and financial institutions like MSME-Development Institute, SIDBI, EDC, NABARD Ltd were major facilitators for the event. The aim of the event was to highlight “Goa – as the next Entrepreneurial Destination” and create awareness on opportunities available for the economic development of the state.
The event featured talks on the role of academia and the banking sector in promoting entrepreneurship. On the sidelines of the main event, various banks, MSME-DI, Department of Industries, Goa Government, EDC Ltd displayed their relevant schemes and interacted with prospective entrepreneurs through specially designated stalls. Around 150-200 prospective entrepreneurs availed of this excellent opportunity helping PM Narendra Modi’s dream come true by strengthening and building sustainable enterprises; and focusing on “job creators rather than job seekers”
