Dr. Lenny Da Costa was installed as Rotary District 3170 Governor, announcing 133 new clubs and launching community initiatives to ‘Touch a Million Lives’
In a magnificent ceremony marked by fellowship, inspiration, and a shared commitment to service, Dr. Lenny Da Costa was formally installed as the District Governor of Rotary International District 3170 by Rotary International Director K. P. Nagesh at The Eden, Cuncolim, Goa.
The grand installation ceremony witnessed the presence of over 700 Rotarians from every corner of District 3170, making it one of the largest and most memorable gatherings in the district’s recent history. The occasion was further enriched by the presence of the entire Council of Governors of District 3170, whose attendance reflected the unity, strength, and continuity of Rotary leadership.
The morning commenced with an inspiring address by the outgoing District Governor, Rtn. Arun Bhandare, who presented a comprehensive account of the remarkable achievements and milestones of the previous Rotary year. His presentation celebrated the dedication and accomplishments of the clubs across the district and set the stage for the transition of leadership.
Following the official installation by RI Director K. P. Nagesh, District Governor Dr. Lenny Da Costa delivered a heartfelt acceptance address that resonated deeply with the audience. He reaffirmed his commitment to every club and every Rotarian across District 3170, assuring them that his leadership would be one of partnership, accessibility, and unwavering support.

He declared that he would walk alongside every club and every Rotarian, empowering them to create meaningful change and collectively achieve the district’s ambitious vision of “Touching a Million Lives.” His message emphasized that Rotary’s greatest strength lies in working together to create lasting impact in the communities we serve.
One of the defining moments of the morning was the unveiling of an unprecedented district growth initiative. The new District Governor announced the launch of 12 new Rotary Clubs, 22 new Rotaract Clubs, and an incredible 99 Interact Clubs, demonstrating District 3170’s strong commitment to expanding Rotary’s reach and inspiring the next generation of leaders.
The celebrations continued with the launch of several district-wide community service initiatives under the ImpactOne platform. These flagship initiatives are designed to address critical community needs in areas such as health, education, environment, maternal and child health, water, disease prevention, and community development, all aligned with the district’s overarching mission of Touching a Million Lives during the Rotary year.
The installation ceremony was more than a change of leadership – it was the beginning of a movement driven by purpose, collaboration, and service above self. 
With renewed energy, a clear vision, and the enthusiastic support of hundreds of Rotarians, District 3170 embarks on a transformative year dedicated to Creating Lasting Impact and enriching the lives of communities across the district.
