CII-Goa Chairman suggests crowd-funding for kickstarting Goan economy

Owing to the ongoing COVID crisis that has hit the economy of the state badly, CII-Goa Chairman Blaise Costabir has recommended crowd-funding to kickstart the sunken Goan economy. He further stated that economic revival is possible only when there is increased spending on part of the people while suggesting that people who are financially well off must spend more.

“If your have money, instead of holding cash, please spend your money. This way the economy the economy will crank up and GST will flow to the Government. Do not depend on the Government. This is what I call crowd funding by the people to push the economy towards revival”, he said.

Moreover, Costabir mentioned that Goans need to step ahead and spend on local products and higher spending can be on the simplest of products such as local vegetables. He also requested residents to start having their own businesses, especially to those Goans who have returned to the state from overseas after having lost their jobs there.

In Costabirs opinion, Goans need to start their own businesses as they await economic revival. While one person may have to go back to work after economic improvement, other family members can still continue with the business that will result in the creation of an enterprise.
