The Women’s Wing of Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) jointly with FiiRE – Forum for Innovation, Incubation, Research and Entrepreneurship- Government of India and powered by Geno Foundation conducted the fourth edition of Business Diva.
Chief Guest of the function was Dr Deviya Rane, MLA of Poriem and Chairperson Goa Forest Development Corporation (GFDC), and Guests of Honour were Deepali Naik, Director, Women and Child Development Department, Government of Goa and Pratima Dhond, Vice President, Goa Chamber Of Commerce & Industry (GCCI).
The event is a business idea competition for women and mainly focuses on innovative solutions to women centric issues and problems.
Business Diva 2023 envisioned to impact and uplift more women entrepreneurs through entrepreneurship.
The competition was held in three categories: Startup (Businesses in existence less than 2 years), Scale-up(Businesses in existence more than 2 years) and Self-help groups.
The welcome address was delivered by Pallavi Salgaocar, Chairperson GCCI – Women’s Wing, Risha Hegde who represented FiiRE explained how the program was conducted over the last two months and the vote of thanks was proposed by Sonali Nagvekar, GCCI – Women’s Wing member. The function was compered by Women’s Wing member Asha Arondekar.
The winner in the Startup category was Mariona Pereira (Lost Vedas), runner-up was Shalaka Dinesh Shet Teli (H2 Health Habits); while the finalists were Sonam Bhagat, Lenora Anne Macedo and Anushka Vernekar.
In the Scale-up category Laxmi Saraf of Soul Food Factory was the winner, while Nisha Mahesh Sawant of Digital HR Empowerment was runnerup. The finalists here were Urvashi Gohil, Michiko Barros and Shweta Goel The third category which was for Self-help groups saw Kavita Ajit Naik of Navadurga Foods as the winner while the runner-up was Sneha Ulhas Naik of O’Saiba Foods.
The Chief Guest in her speech applauded GCCIWomen’s Wing for the good work done by them through various programs and congratulated the winners and participants. The winners were offered cash prizes, mementos and incubation by FiiRE.
The keynote speaker at the event was Divya Miglani, corporate business strategist and an extreme sports athlete.
