BITS Pilani tops ‘QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2024’

BITS Pilani University tops ‘QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2024’ amongst private universities in India. BITS Pilani has ranked 7th amongst the Indian institutions, wherein a total of 56 Indian institutions made it to the ranking and BITS Pilani is amongst the 9 that featured in the top 500 globally.

What started in the early 1900s as a small school has blossomed into a set of colleges for higher education, ranging from the humanities to engineering. In 1964, all of these colleges amalgamated to form a unique Indian university of international standing, christened the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, known as BITS, Pilani. The new century saw the institute expand to four more campuses at Dubai (2000), Goa (2004), Hyderabad (2008) and Mumbai (2021). In 2020 BITS Pilani was granted the coveted status of an Institution of Eminence by the Government of India as recognition of its legacy of excellence, entrepreneurship and leadership.

The K K Birla Goa Campus set up on 170 acres in Zuarinagar, has a state-of-the-art infrastructure. Spacious labs, modern classrooms with soundproof acoustics, ergonomic furniture, computer labs with internet facility and library define the infrastructural counters of the institution. With over 450 teaching and non-teaching staff and over 4000 students admitted for graduate, post-graduate and doctoral studies, the Goa campus is a buzzing education hub.
