
29-year-old Goan stop-motion filmmaker and designer Bismark Fernandes’ short film Expend has been felicitated at a film festival at Palm Springs, California. Expend is a stop-motion animation about a man hunting for power sources, to fulfill his own selfish desires.The film has won several awards in the past, including the Best Super Short Animation/Stop-Motion – June 2018 at the Berlin Flash Film Festival and the Best Animation Short – July 2018, at the Aphrodite Film Awards, New York, among many others. Having previously received his bachelor’s degree in Animation Film Design in India, Bismark worked in the animation industry in Mumbai for three years and then went on to pursue his Master’s degree in Animation at the Savannah College of Art and Design, USA
