Kator Re Bhaaji is a second novel authored by Goan writer, lawyer and thinker, Uday Bhembre. The book depicts the life of Abbe Faria. The historical work contains fifteen chapters that illustrate the journey of the famous pioneer of hypnotism from Goa to France, and has been published by Sanjana Publications. On Abbe Faria’s life and work, Bhembre says, “Abbe Faria started writing a comprehensive thesis on hypnotism, which was intended to span four volumes; however, he faced challenges in completing his work. The first volume of his thesis was published, but the subsequent two remain unpublished. Unfortunately, Abbe Faria was unable to complete the fourth volume as he passed away before doing so.” Bhembre further said that it was only after he died that people studied and analysed his writings and considered him to be the true pioneer of the doctrine of suggestion and thus he gained the recognition of a great hypnotist, worldwide”.
