Developers, policymakers and industry leaders come together at CREDAI-GOA’s Annual General Meeting
CREDAI – GOA reaffirmed its position as the leading representative body of Goa’s organised real estate sector by successfully hosting its Annual General Meeting (AGM) recently, which brought together developers, senior government officials, industry experts and key stakeholders to deliberate on the future of real estate in Goa.
The AGM reflected the Association’s growing role as a constructive partner to the Government in shaping policies that promote responsible development, sustainable urban growth and greater ease of doing business. Over the past year, CREDAI-GOA has actively engaged with various Government departments and regulatory authorities, placing before them several practical recommendations aimed at streamlining approvals, improving regulatory efficiency, encouraging investment and creating a more transparent and accountable real estate ecosystem.
Driving Meaningful Policy Reforms: Over the past year, CREDAI-GOA has intensified its engagement with the Government of Goa and various regulatory authorities by submitting a series of policy recommendations aimed at creating a more efficient, transparent and sustainable real estate ecosystem. Among the key initiatives undertaken by the Association were recommendations on reforms to the Town & Country Planning framework to encourage planned urban development, promote sustainable construction practices and incentivise green buildings. CREDAI-GOA also actively represented the industry’s concerns regarding project approval timelines, environmental clearances and regulatory processes, advocating measures to simplify procedures while maintaining high standards of governance and environmental compliance.
The Association has consistently worked to facilitate constructive dialogue between policymakers and the real estate industry, ensuring that policy decisions reflect both the developmental aspirations of the State and the practical realities of project execution. Through regular interactions with Government departments, CREDAI-GOA continues to promote ease of doing business, enhance investor confidence and support initiatives that contribute to Goa’s long-term economic growth.
Recognising that sustainability is central to the future of urban development, the Association has also championed responsible construction practices, environmental stewardship and the adoption of national green initiatives, reaffirming its commitment to balancing economic progress with ecological preservation.
These sustained efforts have further strengthened CREDAI-GOA’s reputation as the unified voice of Goa’s organised real estate industry and a trusted partner in shaping the State’s development agenda.
The meeting witnessed an overwhelming response from members and stakeholders, underscoring the confidence reposed in the Association and its leadership.
Addressing the gathering, Rajesh Sheth, President, CREDAI-GOA, said: “The real estate sector is a vital pillar of Goa’s economy, generating employment, attracting investment and creating essential infrastructure. At CREDAI-GOA, we firmly believe that sustainable development can only be achieved through continuous collaboration between Government, industry and citizens. Our endeavour is to proactively support policy reforms, improve governance and promote responsible development practices that will benefit not only the industry but the State as a whole.”
Sheth, who also serves as Joint Secretary of CREDAI National, highlighted CREDAI’s flagship environmental initiative, the Green Bharat Mission – built around the inspiring commitment of ‘One Home, Thirty Trees.’
The nationwide mission seeks to make India’s real estate sector an active contributor to environmental restoration by committing to plant 30 native trees for every home developed by a CREDAI member. Beyond tree plantation, the initiative creates a lasting environmental legacy by restoring biodiversity, mitigating carbon emissions and strengthening ecological resilience.
Each participating homebuyer receives a Green Home Certificate together with a Digital Tree Passport, enabling them to monitor the growth and impact of the trees dedicated in their name.
Sheth informed the gathering that preliminary discussions have already commenced with the concerned Government authorities to introduce the Green Bharat-Goa Mission, making Goa one of the pioneering States to adopt this unique sustainability initiative.
He also expressed his sincere appreciation to the members for their unwavering trust, active participation and continued support, noting that the Association’s accomplishments are driven by the collective commitment and unity of its membership.
The AGM concluded with the presentation and adoption of the Annual Report and audited financial statements, recognition of sponsors and partners for their invaluable support, and an engaging interactive session where members shared constructive suggestions and discussed the roadmap for the coming year.
