Rotary Rain Run 2025 returns to Goa for its 11th edition
The monsoons in Goa are about to get a lot more meaningful as the Rotary Rain Run returns for its 11th edition in July 2025, bringing with it a powerful blend of fitness, festivity, and philanthropy. Organised annually by Rotary Club of Porvorim, the Rain Run has evolved into one of Goa’s most spirited and socially driven events, combining the thrill of a marathon with the heart of a cause.
What sets the Rotary Rain Run apart is its immersive monsoon experience. Held amidst Goa’s lush green countryside and refreshing rainfall, the event offers a unique alternative to conventional city marathons. Participants are not just racing against time – they are running in rhythm with nature.
The event features four inclusive race categories, welcoming people of all ages and fitness levels: the 21K Half Marathon is designed for seasoned runners who seek a challenging and rewarding route; the 10K Run is ideal for regular runners eager to push their limits; the 5K Dream Run is a non-timed run filled with enthusiasm, energy, and community participation; and the 2K Fun Walk offers a relaxed, family-friendly walk perfect for children, senior citizens, and first-timers.
With this diverse format, the Rain Run attracts fitness enthusiasts, families, corporate teams, students, and senior citizens – all united by the spirit of giving back.
At its core, the Rotary Rain Run is a fundraising initiative that supports key interventions in women’s health and education. Over the past decade, proceeds from the event have facilitated free health check-up camps, cervical cancer screening drives, menstrual hygiene awareness programs, and scholarship initiatives for underprivileged girls. These sustained efforts have impacted thousands of lives, making the Rain Run a symbol of hope, solidarity, and positive change.
The event is more than a run – it is a celebration. Backed by passionate volunteers and seamless coordination, the Rain Run provides hydration stations, medical assistance, and safety support along the route. At the finish line, participants are greeted with a vibrant festival atmosphere featuring live music, entertainment, and community bonding.
Strong support from local businesses, schools, NGOs, and the larger Goan community transforms the marathon into a state-wide celebration of resilience, togetherness, and social impact.
With over a decade of success, the 2025 edition of the Rotary Rain Run is set to welcome runners from across India and abroad. As the legacy of the event continues to grow, it stands as a powerful example of how sports can drive meaningful change.
