Vishram Borkar, Superintendent of Police (SP), presently serving as ADC to Governor of Goa, has been promoted to the rank of Indian Police Service (IPS) by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. The news came to light while Borkar was accompanying Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai, who was attending a programme organised by the Trivandrum Press Club at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. The Governor congratulated Borkar as soon as the news came to light. The Trivandrum Press Club also congratulated and complimented Borkar while, famous Malayalam poet Madhusoodanan Nair honoured Borkar by garlanding him during the function. SP Borkar was promoted as direct DySP on the recommendations of the GPSC in 1998. He was awarded the Police Medal for meritorious service in August 2017. Borkar is also the recipient of the President Police Medal in January last year. He was appointed as ADC to Governor in July 2018
