In a major boost to the hospitality education in Goa, Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) signed an MoU with V M Salgaocar Instititute of International Hospitality Education, Raia.
Shrinivas Dempo, GCCI President, has focussed on Sustainability and Inclusivity @ 2047 as the Chamber theme. Recently a Corporate Bridge between startups and the hospitality industry was conducted by GCCI. Engagements with Hospitality Education are a must to sustain this sector and accordingly VMSIIHE had approached GCCI for this collaboration. This is the first of its kind association with Hospitality Academics and GCCI coming together with the following objectives: a) To bridge the industry academia divide, b) Share expertise of resource persons in the field of hospitality, tourism and general management, c) Facilitate the advancement of knowledge through academic and re-search collaborations, d) Conduct joint surveys and analysis, e) Programmes and events, f) Networking opportunities, g) Support in internships and on the job training opportunities and h) Provide guest faculties to help in curriculum.
The MoU with GCCI was signed by Pratima Dhond Vice President of GCCI in the presence of Sanjay Amonkar, Director General, GCCI; Kiran Ballikar and Pallavi Arondekar. Prof Irfan S. Mirza Principal and Director signed on behalf of VMSIIHE in the presence of Dr Mari Raj, Administrator. The event was coordinated by Dr Semele Sardessai.
