The Digital Pharmacy

Young entrepreneur Isha Kher is determined to make medicines from local pharmacies accessible for all, through her app Brizz

If you want to be a great company, think about what social problem you can solve. It’s about solving the social problem, said Jack Ma, founder of the Chinese e-commerce giant, Alibaba.
Isha Kher is an embodiment of the above quote. Born and brought up in a business family, Isha is striving towards becoming the next young entrepreneur. This millenial has started with a basic idea of one hub for all the pharmacies. In a world where buying and selling online is the most convenient source of transaction right now, this web app serves its cause.

Brizz is a user friendly app and can be used by anyone and everyone. With this app you don’t have to circle the pharmacies again and again in search of medicines, and parking! Just search the desired medicine on the app, check its availability and go fetch it, says Isha

Brizz, the app that Isha has founded, is a user friendly app and can be used by anyone and everyone. With this app, you don’t have to circle the pharmacies again and again in search of medicines, and parking! Just do a search of the desired medicine on the app, check its availability and go fetch it! By simply typing out the name of the medicine or putting a picture of the prescription you can check whether any of the pharmacies have your desired medicines or not.
Isha completed her schooling from Mushtifund, later joined Aryaan and recently graduated from Goa Pharmacy College. She worked as an intern at Hindu pharmacy during her third year at college, after which she had this thought of starting up something which could help people. “The idea of this startup seemed very promising” says Isha, while talking about her instincts for starting this. She is right now completely focused on working with this web app and might in the future study for an MBA. When asked about Brizz, she says that it has been linked with two pharmacies so far, Jeevan Rekha and Hindu Pharmacy.
As for the advertising and marketing of the app, pamphlets and banners have been put in the above mentioned pharmacy outlets. “I’ve always had the ability to come up with unique ideas to solve or improve any given problem or situation that I’ve come across. But all those thoughts or ideas went in vain because I never took them seriously – until this idea came along. Hence, I finally decided to go ahead with my instincts and explore entrepreneurship in order to give life to this particular idea of helping the local pharmacies and people looking to buy medicines. And of course, business runs in the family, there’s so much to learn from them and they too have been extremely supportive right from the beginning,” says Isha, as she adds that this is a exponential plan and a big learning opportunity. She also mentions that her father played a major role in supporting her and motivating her throughout this process.
“This is a growing idea and will help retailers throughout the city to connect to their customers. This seemed like a very good idea to put my four years of pharma knowledge to help people out,” says Isha.
Her future goal is to not only join all the pharmacies in Goa but all the states through the country and maybe someday even go international. Isha is also planning for home delivery in the coming future.
“It’s so important to buy medicines from your trusted sources when reports say that 1 in 10 medicines in the country are counterfeit. The idea of Brizz is to use the convinience of the internet and make medicines more accessible from your trusted local pharmacy. I feel that life is more precious than discounts and it’s so important in today’s time to know your medicine and your pharmacy,” shares Isha, as she explains the contours of her business idea
