GOA MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION HOSTS PANEL DISCUSSION ON WORK LIFE BALANCE

Goa Management Association (GMA) hosted a panel discussion, on work-life balance at the International Centre Goa recently.
The panel consisted of leaders across industries in Goa. Sriram Natarajan of Molbio Diagnostics Ltd, Blaise Costabir of GMI Zarhak Moulders Pvt Ltd., Saurabh Khanna General Manager of The Park Hotels in Goa; and Kritika Kaushal of Diavola Art Cafe & Bar, unanimously agreed that the concept of work-life balance varied with an individual’s career stage, and beliefs.
“Work-life balance is a corporate reality that we cannot turn a blind eye to. Although people escape to Goa to seek a wholsome life, while doing meaningful work, the panellists have put before us a tool-kit for approaching the right balance. At GMA, we are keen to bring such interesting topics to the fore,” said Deepak Bandekar, Chairman of Goa Management Association.
Sriram Natarajan spoke about going from a 6-day working week to a 5-day week, to ensure better work-life balance.
Costabir expressed the need to work smart. Processes and systems that ensure productive use of time rather than a work culture that necessitates long hours. Khanna shared his experience over the last 2 decades in the hospitality industry and opined that spending time at work should not take away from ensuring a healthy balance with personal and family time.
Kritika Kaushal, after having worked with startups for a decade, now brings in her version of work-life balance by indulging her passion for food and art, at her business venture.
The panel discussion was moderated by Rina Barreto Shankar, who runs a boutique brand and business growth agency, Cheree Tree Concepts, having herself stepped out from a corporate career a decade ago.
The audience participated whole-heartedly and shared their rich life and career experiences.
