Parmaditya named as DIG of the State

Senior superintendent of police Parmaditya has been appointed as the deputy inspector general of police. The order in this regard was issued by Shashank Thakur, undersecretary (personnel-II). Parmaditya, an IPS officer of the 2005 batch of the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre was transferred to Goa from Delhi.

As per the order, Parmaditya will head the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to look into cases of illegal mining in the state, along with other responsibilities. DIG Jaspal Singh has been relieved as head of SIT.

Parmaditya will also supervise the work of the Superintendents of Police of North and South Goa districts, traffic, crime, wireless and communication, state police control room with immediate effect, said the order.

Prior to this posting, Parmaditya was the principal of the police training college in Delhi. He joined the Goa police in July, earlier this year
