Syne opens her new store at Fontainhas

Fashion designer Syne has recently relocated her signature store to Fontainhas, Panaji.

Syne has been retailing her label over the last 11 years and also has a store at Borda, Margao.

Known for her minimalistic sense of fashion and comfortable wear, her client list has grown over the years.

The launch of her new store was marked with a ramp walk showcasing the contemporary collection for the upcoming season.

A self-taught designer, she has been passionate about fashion design while still in college. She says, “It is just my love for designing clothes that is seen in my work”


Parvish Andani Kamat awarded CSR Leadership Award

Parvish Andani Kamat owner of Anka Services was awarded for her voluntary work. She is the founder Chairperson of CII-Indian Women Network Goa Chapter from 2014-2016 and earlier the Goa Chamber Women Wing, a women’s network to keep women ahead in every respect.

Sateesh Vernekar to head Indian Inst. of Materials Management (Goa)

Sateesh S. Vernekar (Right) has been elected as Chairman of the Indian Institute of Materials Management (IIMM) Goa branch for the term 2017-19. Vernekar is working as Dy. Materials Manager in MPT and is presently looking after the Medical Procurement and Stores at MPT Hospital. He is a fellow life member of IIMM and holds a first class post-graduate diploma and MBA degree in Materials Management. He has been awarded IIMM’s prestigious Presidential Gold Medal for his outstanding performance in Materials Management. He has served IIMM’s senior positions as National Council Member; Member Board of Studies, IIMM National Headquarters Mumbai


Keshav Dhuri awarded Ph.D in Library and Information Science

Keshav R. Dhuri, Librarian at St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa has been awarded a Ph.D. Degree (Doctor of Philosophy) by the Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeth, Pune in Library and Information Science under the guidance of Dr. N. B. Dahibhate, retired Principal Technical Officer from CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory, Pune. His thesis is entitled “Use and User study of E-Resources in Medical and Engineering College Libraries in Goa.” In the thesis, he has listed out the databases available for medical and engineering streams. He has suggested a preliminary model of networking for engineering and medical college libraries to achieve resource sharing among them
